1 Peter 2:11-12

Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. 1 Peter 2:11-12 NIV

I love the line ‘aliens and strangers in the world’. It sounds so ‘other-worldly’! Being an ‘alien’ means that we think and live differently from those in this world. Our real life is in heaven with Jesus and our desire is to please Him and receive the reward He has for us. Notice also the destructive nature of sin, which attacks our very souls, hence the need for vigilance and abstinence. Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!
